Hotmix Asphalt Supply
Tarmac have their asphalt plant based in Kerikeri, their plant can supply 70-90 ton of hot mix per hour supplying customers from 10 -1000 tons per day on request.
Hotmix Asphalt
Asphalt is the equivalent to concrete, but provides a smoother longer lasting wearing surface. It however doesn’t have the same bridging strength as concrete however.
Once the ground surface is correctly prepared, asphalt is laid with our semi-automated Blaw-knox BK3020 asphalt paver, paving width of 1.2-4.8m. We can lay asphalt as thin as a 10mm blinding coat to 150 mm thick, depending on your needs.
Tar Sealing – bitumen/emulsion chip sealing
Chip sealing offers a practicable, hard wearing surface at a lower cost to concrete. The grade (size) of sealing chip used reflects the normal vehicle use of the area, especially vehicle weights and speed. Tarmac have a 2006 E2 certified Baty sprayer with a 4m spray bar and 3, 6wheeler chip spreaders, we also have our own bitumen bridging truck and trailer with 25’000Lt capacity insuring we have the gear to carry out the bigger reseal contracts.
Road construction
TARMAC nz offers ‘new road’ and ‘new driveway’ construction services. We have the management, technical personnel, plant and machinery to do it all, from drive way entrance way’s to 20km road re-line and new construction. Tarmac has the capabilities to complete the whole job in an efficient manner with a focus on ensuring that the public are not adversely affected. Tarmac prides itself on safety and has an experienced and innovative team that are continually coming up with new solutions to increase the quality of roading and driveway construction.
Stabilising Services
As a part of roading construction Tarmac nz has the capabilities to carry out road stabilising using their new 2011 Johndeer 240hp tractor with STEHR 2.4m road mill. Tarmac northland prides itself on carrying out the most efficient job causing the least harm to the environment. Tarmac is able to offer environmentally friendly stabilising solutions that no New Zealand competitor can.
Drain laying
Tarmac nz has extensive knowledge in drain laying. Over the years Tarmac has developed innovative solutions to ensure clients drainage is implemented in the most cost effective way whilst reducing the inconvenience to customers of having open messy trenches. Tarmac has close ties with drain laying suppliers to ensure work is completed on time at a competitive price.
Kerbing and channelling
TARMAC nz offers clients its continuous kerbing service. We have 6 different kerbing profiles – something to suit every client’s needs, whether it is a car park edge, mower edge or raised border to continuos kerb & channel paving stones or kerb blocks.
Vehicle crossings, entrance ways
Local body and New Zealand Transit Authority rules usually dictate how crossings are constructed. TARMAC nz can offer clients advice on the options they have under these rules, options that meet the client’s real needs.
Retaining walls
When you want to get the best out of your property, the land contours may dictate you need to install retaining walls. Properly designed and built retaining walls, with the right drainage system are the only acceptable investment option when you want a retaining wall to do its job for many long years. TARMAC nz’s 40+ years knowledge of NZ’s soils ensures you get a wall that works for you and it lasts.
Existing surfaces – patching/repairs
TARMAC nz can repair broken surfaces and patch potholes and crack sealing. TARMAC northland will tell you your options before you make your decision so you know exactly what you can expect from their work.
Earthworks
TARMAC nz has vast experience in contouring land so that it is usable and attractive. And, its knowledge will ensure that issues like erosion when it really rains hard do not happen to you. Tarmac has carried out such sub-divions as Okiato Point, Point Veronica, Keri Grove all in which we moved over 50’000m3 of fill, Tarmac more recently has carried out earth works on some of the most high profile new houses in the Kerikeri area.
